Engineer Efficiency reminds me of a video clip from one of the beginning chps- where the T took time to model & practice passing in paper. Ss did it super quick! Have to remember it have to plan to teach even the little things!

Threshold sets the tone of your classroom culture. I greet every student w/morning hug & kiss on the head. If they had a rough bus ride/morning- I remind them that only love and respect is allowed beyond the door. S must literally shake off bad mood before entering #TLaChampChat

@bethhess12 Exercising that No Opt out strategy might be helpful. Perhaps giving each student 2 discussion tickets they have to use before the end of lesson as an exit ticket??

@bethhess12 In terms of the turn & talks- I used the I do, you do process before every T&T for 2 about 2 weeks. It has been a game changer- lots of focused student lead learning & has increased participation for all students during lessons.

A1: I also make sure to be walking around giving quick feedback, compliment, pat on the back. Ss more inclined to stay on topic if I'm rotating ready to pop into their convo at anytime. #TLaChampChat
