@nixcraft To counter my other post, I choose a Linux desktop as it's a lot easier and more consistent fo my work. Getting podman to work in WSL was a PITA, as was a proper container env in Windows native. Updating software on Windows is an hours long thing even with Choclatey.

@nixcraft Sound is the one place that affects me most. Trying to get ALSA, Pulse, JACK, etc. configured is a pain. The tools for editing are great but actually getting consistent sound in is a challenge.

@Lazer Check the date on the jar? Maybe a bad/expired batch? Maybe the jar was left open? Did you change sugar type? There are ways to improve it a little (e.g., a pinch of baking soda).

@justingordon212 I have a weird memory for certain facts. E.g., one year we'd reset a password for a server. I was in the room. Two years later the password was forgotten. "Does anyone remember?" "Impossible!" I thought for a minute then said, "chewbubblegum," which was the password.

@Wiswell It's crazy. I wonder if dentistry is just regulated differently? Had a dentist spend over an hour taking X-rays and jabbing me with needles, then recommend braces. Ship medic literally looked for three seconds with a penlight and figured out it was a cracked tooth causing pain.

@Wiswell If I may ask, what country are you in? Wrong tooth? Any other medical profession and I'd guess you were in a place with different quality standards, but have had my share of dentist horror stories before finding my current one.

@malanalysis It's a sad truth. My younger self learned this when an upgrade when perfectly. One group ignored months of planning and their app failed. We had to revert on account of 1 app. Someone's failure became mine. Lesson learned. Next try, reported daily what was blocking the upgrade.
