Today, I had the pleasure of working alongside a fabulous group of trainee teachers! ITE Mathematics subject day. Developing subject knowledge in early counting- 5 principles of counting. @LearnATPro @niotinspiration
Compassionate #leadership is an increasingly popular concept, especially among my health and social care clients. A 2012 paper by Paul Atkins & Sharon Parker outlines 4 behaviours essential for compassionate responding. Here's my #sketchnote summary

Part of the vision behind Growing Faith in our diocese is to see more children involved in leading worship. You can read the story of South Kilworth Primary School's Pupil Worship Team, currently made up of 8 children, with the youngest aged 7 here: https://t.co/t5n1GThs4L
'The best mathematicians do the easiest maths.'
Fluency doesn't just happen through practice, it must be taught explicitly.
I'm looking forward to leading our first @Rise_MAT Maths Cluster CPD on Monday when we will be exploring how to do this with addition & subtraction.
“They can see that they’re working through things at the same pace”.
Sue Evans explores how Mastering Number is supporting children to develop fluency, confidence and flexibility with number in a mixed-age setting https://t.co/gOF0AYHUEG
@RishiSunak Teachers don’t back it, we haven’t voted on it yet! The strikes are suspended, they aren’t over for definite yet. There’s a way you could end the strikes for definite, you could…
✨fully fund the pay rise✨
@TTRadioOfficial No! Reject. We will get the 6.5% "pay cut" forced on us anyway and we will continue to stand up for better funding and pay for education.
@TTRadioOfficial For me -it is not about the %. It is either funded properly or it isn’t. Funded =keep staff in schools. Unfunded =negative impact for our children. Schools are not offering children the same number of experienced staff as 15 years ago=bigger class sizes with less staff = Reject!
Do the right thing he says to teachers!! Take the payrise I'm giving you, that's coming out of the school budget so I'm not really giving you a payrise casue I'm gona make schools struggle even more financial because of it.
📣 “We've seen the benefits that it can have when children can articulate properly what they're thinking.”
In our new podcast episode, we discover how explicit teaching of maths vocabulary is giving children in one North East primary school a voice https://t.co/7OLDaGPb4R
We need to challenge the narrative that children who don’t meet the KS2 standard “can’t read”
To claim a child scoring 100 can read, but a child scoring 99 can’t read, is a nonsense.
