The recent visit to Taita Taveta County for the celebration of World Ranger Day was a powerful reminder of why Kenya remains a premier global destination.
Taita Taveta offers a rare blend of thrilling safari adventures, serene landscapes, and deep history.Home to significant portions of Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks, the county holds immense eco-tourism, cultural, and historical value.
With the sightings of the famous dust-red elephants, the Big Five, and unique ecosystems around Mzima Springs and Lake Chala. Through adventure such as hiking through the Taita Hills, part of the ancient Eastern Arc Mountains, offering rich endemic biodiversity. It is filled with a rich tapestry of cultural heritage and World War I historic sites.
As a Ministry, we remain committed to supporting local conservancies, and promoting sustainable tourism practices that directly benefit host communities. I encourage both domestic and international travelers to put Taita Taveta on their itinerary.
Tourism drives local economies, creates opportunities for our youth, and preserves our natural heritage.Come witness the wild heart of Kenya!

Kenya was honored to warmly welcome a high-level United States Congressional delegation from the House Energy & Commerce Committee for a memorable three-day visit to Nairobi and the iconic Maasai Mara National Park.
This historic visit is a powerful vote of confidence in Kenya’s tourism leadership, our world-class conservation model, and our thriving investment climate. The delegation’s keen interest in our destinations, sustainable practices and community-led conservation efforts underscores Kenya’s standing as a premier, secure and sustainable travel hub in Africa.
As they exit this morning, we sincerely thank our American partners for their enduring friendship and for recognizing Kenya’s progress in modernizing tourism, leveraging digital innovation for wildlife protection, and ensuring local communities directly benefit from conservation.
As we deepen our bilateral cooperation across travel, conservation, clean energy, and enterprise, we look forward to welcoming more visitors, strengthening people-to-people ties, and showcasing the unmatched beauty and hospitality of our nation.

Congratulations Team 🇰🇪 on this exceptional performance!
Kenya’s impressive 12-medal showcase at the 2026 Commonwealth Games is a powerful, high-visibility platform that significantly elevates the our global brand. By dominating key long distance and track events on an international stage, Kenya generates millions of dollars in organic media exposure, capturing global attention and reinforcing its identity as a nation defined by extraordinary talent and resilience.
This elevated international profile directly fuels the country's tourism industry~particularly in the growing sector of sports and athletics tourism. This dominance in long-distance running affirms high-altitude regions like Iten as premier world-class hubs, attracting foreign athletes, sports enthusiasts, and wellness tourists, while seamlessly driving broader interest in Kenya's iconic safari, adventure, and cultural destinations.

Had a great Sunday as i joined the faithful congregation at Ruaraka Methodist Church for today’s Sunday service.
It was an absolute joy to fellowship, worship, and share in the Word of God with such a vibrant and dedication community.
Faith and unity remain the bedrock of our society. As we reflect on today’s powerful message, we carry forward a renewed spirit of hope, love and service to one another.
A heartfelt thank you to the leadership and entire church family at Ruaraka Methodist for their warm hospitality and unwavering prayers for our country.

As part of an inspiring church service, i represented H.E Deputy President @KindikiKithure for a Projects support of the church's ongoing development projects aimed at uplifting both the sanctuary and the surrounding community.
Faith, generosity and unity remain the bedrock of our society. When we come together to build up our institutions of faith, we strengthen the very foundation of our nation.
This morning, i had a bilateral meeting with a US Congressional delegation from the House Committee on Energy & Commerce, led by Chairman Brett Guthrie (R-KY), and comprising Reps. Troy Carter (LA), Morgan Griffith (VA), Russ Fulcher (ID), Jay Obernolte (CA), Cliff Bentz (OR), Craig Goldman (TX) and Julie Fedorchak (ND).

After a day with our rangers, i had an opportunity to visit the management and hospitality team at the iconic Salt Lick Game Lodge in Taita Taveta County. I was thrilled to learn that the lodge is currently booked to full capacity!
Witnessing our safari circuits operate at 100% occupancy is a testament to the resilience and vibrancy of our tourism and hospitality sector. Beyond the impressive numbers, this thriving demand directly empowers our local communities by driving job creation, local suppliers, and reinforces Kenya’s global standing as an unbeatable, year~round destination.
Sincere gratitude to our dedicated hospitality workers and conservation partners whose commitment to service excellence continues to keep #MagicalKenya at the top of the world stage.

Today in the heart of the Tsavo National Park~ Kenya’s largest protected ecosystem spanning over 42,000 square kilometers, I joined the global community to commemorate World Ranger Day 2026 under the theme "Rangers: Guardians of a Changing World."
Tsavo is a natural powerhouse, home to nearly 40% of Kenya’s total elephant population, the famous black rhinos of Ngulia Sanctuary, and irreplaceable megafauna. Kenya stands in profound awe of the extraordinary rangers who patrol this vast landscape daily.
As we celebrate their courage, we also bow in solemn remembrance of the brave heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and we honor those who bear the physical and emotional scars of defending our land.
To every single ranger serving across our national parks, reserves, and marine protected areas: Kenya salutes your patriotism and steadfast devotion.

We continue equipping our rangers with cutting-edge surveillance technology, tactical gear and modern infrastructure to enhance their mobility and operational reach across vast, protected landscapes.
Protecting Kenya’s wildlife and securing our ecosystems requires fully empowering the brave frontline guardians who defend them every day.
Hongera @KWSKenya and all partners for remaining true to this course!
#TunzaMaliYako
We have give an assurance that no ranger stands alone, and the dignity of our officers will always mirror the immense responsibility they shoulder while protecting expansive landscapes like Tsavo East and Tsavo West.
As environmental threats evolve, the Government remains resolute in ensuring our frontline conservationists are properly supported, equipped, and rewarded. We are actively prioritizing progressive improvements in ranger welfare—focusing on dignified housing, better working conditions in remote field posts, competitive remuneration and robust support systems for their families.
Investing in our rangers is not merely an operational necessity~it's a direct investment in Kenya’s economic future and moral fabric. We owe our guardians a debt of gratitude that shall be reflected in how we care for them and their loved ones.
Happy World Ranger Day!
