Walter Mitty… sorry, Rob Couhig, and his loyal sidekick David Brent… sorry, Joe Jacobson, aren’t getting Reading FC promoted — or even competitive — if they keep lowballing players with offers 50–75% below market wages.

It’s a fantasy. You can’t build a promotion-winning squad on bargain-bin contracts while expecting Championship-level ambition. At some point, reality has to catch up with the dream.
