it’s kind of cool when a low budget production breaks into the main stream so that a bunch of people who have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about feel the need to have an authoritative opinion on it
In Nashville? SIGN IT. We don't want an ugly, loud, power and water sucking data center in the woods right next to our zoo. GO AWAY. https://t.co/XDiRbqh1LQ via @Change
@ScottJeschke Similar argument for how streaming has impacted film structure. Everything has the big opening tease now it seems, in a tired way, to avoid rush to judgement and bail. In a theater you're committed, but not everyone making a film knows where it'll land distribution wise. Sucks.
@caseyshoots Definitely a different vibe between them. Not bad different, just different. I think Bobby D. was more jokey and unassuming, while Bardem looks to be more sharp and outwardly calculating.
@FreddyInSpace@GwenLovesMovies Before him it was Swift making her special deal with theaters for her release that made me go "hmm." Obv she was ... well- her ... but it was one of those times I went "wait, why don't other ppl just ask?" That's what Markiplier did w/theaters and digital platform aggregation.
They made a new kind of weapon. And they’re testing it on us.
Buckle up for Adam Wingard’s super soldier slasher ONSLAUGHT, starring Adria Arjona, Alex Pereira, Dan Stevens, and more. In theaters Sept 4.

Lotta movies right now are about dealing with distorted reality or not believing what you’re seeing… Backrooms, Obsession, Iron Lung, Hokum, etc… wonder what could possibly be going on in the zeitgeist that has people feeling like they can’t trust what they’re seeing
100% into more aesthetic-driven, experience-based, atmospheric cinema. Not everything needs std narrative scaffolding. Don't need to know why everything happens where it's from or what it means. It's ok for something to be intentionally vague or up for interpretation. Bring it.
@ohhellodan It's that "there's room for ALL of it" narrative that has been pushed for years from all corners but nobody wants to believe or risk it. There's room for Grogu and Backrooms and Dune and Black Bag and Sentimental Value and Superman. Give us all of it, not 4 kinds of 2 things.
OBSESSION earned over $8M yesterday, surging more than 30% from last Friday.
It’s the BIGGEST third-Friday increase for a non-Christmas wide release in over 50 years — since the rise of modern cinema with JAWS in 1975.
BACKROOMS is surging towards an $80M debut this weekend—you know, on par with what THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU opened with last weekend.
With a budget of just $10M.
This is the way.
