After 4 of 7 season out of the playoffs (including covid gift berth), shareholders have 0 appetite for more years out of the picture. They'll go straight for 8th as soon as next season if they help it.

But IIRC, Hughes has already said that he would be shopping for a veteran D, so I assume he will make the rest work....for better or worse. But there's no way they trot 3 rookie D out there and expect to be competitive (which they do).

I can't imagine they start the year with an on-the-block Petry, Edmundson, Wideman, and a glut of untested kids (and if I were Price, I might accidentally on purpose slip on a banana peel).

Of course not. If Price/Allen are healthy and play average hockey - if CC scores at a decent clip - If MSL pushes the team forward even a little bit, they are out of the top-10 barring a trade.
