I like how North Star is more centered around the students than the academics. They have a plan to get things done, but they get to do it in a way that makes sense and works for them with someone who wants the best for them. #diglitclass

I think the stress on grades is changing the definition of smart. It used to be what you knew, now it's your grades in different classes. If you are failing, you probably won't be considered smart, if you have straight A's, you are. #diglitclass

A lot of parents only care about their child's grades, my parents did. I was in AP classes, so I was "smart", but that's because I had good grades in those classes, not because of what I could really do in that class. #diglitclass

The sad truth these days is that grades are taking over the classroom. They are more important than the actual learning that happens. I am guilty of this, I care about my grade, but I never think about what I am actually learning. #diglitclass

I wish that I could have gone to school like Sudbury Valley, but I have the feeling that I would have been one of those kids who never went to a class. But I would've been the one that tried to do everything on my own and then got frustrated when I couldn't do it. #diglitclass
