I just want to point out… the amount of money the U.S. has spent on war in the last 2.5 months is roughly the same cost that Bernie Sanders proposed for universal college. So the real question is never ‘can we afford it’… it’s what we choose to prioritize.
2 years ago today, 26-year-old American activist Ayşenur Eygi was killed by an Israeli sniper while serving as an international observer in Palestine.
To this day, no one has been held accountable for this attack. At least 9 other Americans have been killed by Israelis since October 2023.

Despite the solemn headline, it’s important to note that this doesn’t mean it’s time for us to wring our hands in defeat and just give up. What it does mean is that we’re going to have to push ten times harder against the powers that be if we want a fighting chance for our world.
It’s been one of the most depressing experiences of my adulthood to witness the gentrification of my community. We already lived in one of the most expensive renting markets in the country, and now we’ve been at the top for multiple years in a row. And it’s getting worse.
