@KyleJGlen Plague for AI slop images, yeah, but the same image generation models are now *very* good at crating business/enterprise infographics, technical diagrams etc. Very useful and huge time savers.
@shawnduggan@OpenAI Yeah, @thsottiaux are we missing something ? The old chat projects were so useful, and they've completely disappeared from the new ChatGPT Codex combined app. Used them to organize lots of my conversations.
@SadlyItsBradley I kept up with this technology for many years, but it was always a case of they could produce small quantities and individual units, but mass manufacture was very difficult with very high costs and low yields. Anything to suggest they finally solved that problem with this?
Just pointing out that I broke the story 7 months ago that Mandelson failed vetting from the security services and put it to Downing Street...so the idea that Downing Street only found out on Tuesday is complete nonsense.

You and David Cameron share much of the blame for the sorry state of Britain’s armed forces today. You cut the defence budget by a third. You delayed renewal by a decade. And the question posed in your tweet shows that you had no idea what you were doing. Worse still, the money you thought you were saving was a drop in the ocean compared to the billions the Conservatives Party was later forced to spend to offset Covid. Your political legacy is a country unable to deter or counter the threats it now faces. This is what you will be remembered for, as well as for almost losing Scotland, and for the Brexit vote, which has undoubtedly given us a worse deal than the one we had before, including making it more difficult and expensive to buy military hardware from our European neighbours.
New Anthropic research: Emotion concepts and their function in a large language model.
All LLMs sometimes act like they have emotions. But why? We found internal representations of emotion concepts that can drive Claude’s behavior, sometimes in surprising ways.
Putin thinks that he can outlast the UK and our allies.
He is sorely mistaken.
Our largest sanctions package since the early months of the invasion turns the screws on Russia’s faltering war economy ⬇️
@discord_support I'm in the UK and your system wants me to verify my age enough though I did some months ago. The verification is broken, it gets all the way through and I get a button with "done" at the bottom of the screen which I can't click on. Please fix it.
There are reasons to argue about financial bubbles in the funding of data centers, but it is increasingly clear from the numbers that the frontier AI companies are showing that AI is, indeed, a very massive business with high demand and rapid growth rates.
The drug design engine we’re building at @IsomorphicLabs is extending the SOTA further across key benchmarks, showing huge progress in accuracy and capabilities critical for in-silico drug discovery. Incredible work from @maxjaderberg and the entire team at Isomorphic Labs!
I am forever changed after the Iran massacre.
I am forever changed by people’s silence, by their cruel mocking and atrocity denial, by their lack of empathy and support.
I am forever changed. If you are too, you’re not alone.
Someone should preserve any documents associated with this order from #Iran's regime's supreme leader to form the basis of criminal indictments against Khamenei and the entirety of the SNSC. https://t.co/fQtchNwnu0
A report from the IRGC Intelligence Organisation from January 24 put the number of those killed as more than 36,500, sources from the Supreme National Security Council tell Iran International
This is the deadliest two-day protest massacre in history
https://t.co/yR3SSdl4VX
More than 36,500 Iranians were killed by security forces during the January 8-9 crackdown on nationwide protests, according to classified documents @IranIntl received. That's even more than @TIME's report.
Reading these figures and watching the absolutely inadequate international response thus far to #Iran's regime's massacre sickens me. Not only must the Islamic Republic pay a direct price via kinetic action, but there should be unprecedented measures taken to isolate the Islamic Republic diplomatically--preventing its representatives from receiving the privileges afforded to legitimate governments in international institutions and Western capitals.
And the era of diplomacy or talk about "deals" with the current leadership in Iran should be over.
By the way, the fact that some figures within the Iranian government are even speaking to @IranIntl, considered by the regime to be a terrorist organization, is a sign of internal dissent in the ranks. Ditto for the Health Ministry officials who spoke with @TIME.
