Surround yourself with people who see a flying car and say, "Awesome!"
Not people who see a flying car and say, "It's not actually flying" or "I don't see the point."
This post is not about cars :)
Electronic music producers always took advantage of the latest technology in their productions, but now it’s not allowed?
I think the difference is helping you create and bring your vision to life vs. skipping the creative process entirely.
You are the niche.
Think about us in real life. We are who we are - you have your professional career, you have your interests and your hobbies, but it doesn't mean you never talk about a random show you saw on Netflix. It doesn't stop you from referencing the big game last night.
For some reason we think the way we have to show up from a content / personal brand standpoint is different than how we have to show up in life.
We talk about authenticity being such a big pillar of being successful and making content, yet we don't live an authentic life. We limit ourselves to a niche that we think is required because we think "if we do too many things the algorithm will hurt us" or "we'll confuse the consumer" - these are all academic ideologies that are not grounded in truth.
The truth is, no one is penalized for being their true self.
