I've closely tracked every Hamas-Israel conflict since 2014. Unlike previous conflicts, Hamas has deliberately not published Gaza figures of dead fighters, commanders, and affiliates (except in a handful of cases). This strategy is aimed at obscuring the actual count of Palestinian casualties, thus inflating the number of civilian deaths in the process.
I urge all news outlets and government agencies to approach casualty figures from Gaza health officials with caution. I strongly suspect that the actual number of deceased Palestinian terrorists belonging to over a dozen factions in Gaza will be well into the thousands by the end of this conflict.
