This is the level of anger we are dealing with.

"My father was also murdered. My mother was murdered too. And I, like you, was orphaned when it was time for my Bar Mitzva," said Rabbi Yisrael Lau to Ariel Zohar, who marked his Bar Mitzva yesterday.

Ariel's parents, Yaniv and Yasmin, lived in Kibbutz Nir Oz and were among those murdered on October 7th. Rabbi Lau's own parents were among the six million who perished in the Holocaust.

Ariel's entire family was wiped out that day. Both his parents and both his sisters were murdered. He alone survived.

And of all the people in the world, perhaps the former Chief Rabbi of Israel understands him best.

"Despite this, I've had a good life and enjoyed some achievements," Rabbi Lau added. "And so will you, you too will have a good life, because you will see how much people love you."

Words that both broke the hearts of those listening, and simultaneously lifted their spirits.

How to fix a broken …little girl ?

The sweet little Emily Hand, 9y old, was finally released, after 50 days as a hostage. Her Mom died to cancer, when she was 2y old. Her second Mom, who raised her since, was killed on Oct 7. Her father…, you might remember him saying “Yes “, as a desperate relief, when he first thought her daughter was killed. He said then that death was much better than knowing his little girl is in the barbaric hands of the terrorists. A while later, he found out that Emily is alive and she is …God knows where in Gaza.
She came back broken. She is whispering, because in captivity she was not allowed to talk. Her hair was full of lice, she can not eat without sharing her food with everyone around…Like she did when she barely had what to eat.. She is asking why everybody waves at her on the street. She has no idea that we all know her. She has no idea how loved she is, not only by her wonderful big sister and this amazing father, but by all of us.
This little girl, on that day, saw monsters killing everyone around, she saw dead people, blood, houses on fire…Then she was locked in a room, where she spent 50 days and nights…whispering.
How do you fix this ?………..
Israel Social Affair Ministry said “there is no ready game plan anywhere in the world for handling the return of kidnapped children, not in this horrific scenario…”
