@JoelWebbon I agree that his perspective seems out of touch on matters that are outside of his wheelhouse - like how AI will disrupt the job and stock markets.
HOWEVER, he's right to encourage if someone wants to throw away money at coding school, they do it without going into debt.
@JoelWebbon I think the math will balance out... more babies will have to be made within the church (birth rates are way higher inside churches anyway) and some men might have to wait a little longer and marry a younger wife. Seems like not a bad tradeoff.
@DetroitDaveCell@newstart_2024 What is the actual gain? More entertainment? All the jobs will be displaced, so there would be no financial gain to it. So why not remain human with agency in tact, and let the AI tell you about all its neat little findings without it annihilating your personhood in the process?
@Chase42083378@newstart_2024 Humans aren't made for that. Read about avoidant attachment, or anxious avoidant, and see if you might fit one of those. It is not sustainable... But you can heal from it.
@newstart_2024 Atheists would believe this. They have no reason not to. People who believe in the Holy Spirit should exercise serious caution entrusting soulless entities with decision making, life advice, etc. There is a spirit behind everything. You're speaking to one or the other.
@iScanMinis@whatever I agree with the premise of having children, but only if you and your husband want them. That's all I was saying. I'm not having kids for the sake of others - I'm having them because I want a family, I'm raising them to love God in order to please Him. Society does benefit.
@newstart_2024 The reward is being and feeling that much closer to God, if you pursue that. I see no other possible reward that makes it worth the pain you'd feel without it.
