my dad was a NYC Union Local #608 [now #157] carpenter and a super for a company called PCC [Pacific Construction Corporation]. one of his first jobs in the early 70’s was the completion of the #WindowsOnTheWorld restaurant; floors 106 & 107 of the north tower [#1]. the twin towers were built uniquely in that there were no walls built as the towers went up - it was just the elevator shaft and the steel outer shell. the interior/s would come later and that’s what dad did; drop ceilings & sheetrock. some of my earliest memories with my dad were him taking me to work at this site an me being able to literally run from one side of the floor to the other with zero obstructions - it was completely open and quite an overwhelming feeling being up that high, putting our heads against the windows and looking down…
VK, great job.
Hits home.👊🏼

Selling this right here @sagaftra@SAGAFTRANY. A blow to one union is a blow to all unions. Looks like when people make money they forget where they came from.
Thank you Councilmember @CabanD22 for standing with our union brothers and sisters --the working men and women in NYC--as we fight for fair wages & benefits on #RobertDeNiro Wildflower Studio project he's building nonunion w/ Gotham Drywall. @SAGAFTRANY@sagaftra@sagaftranews
Every year, worker misclassification sets RI families back by limiting access to healthcare, weakening social security, and lowering wages.
Let’s protect workers by passing this legislation making it a felony. TY @NASRCC_UBC for leading this fight.
