@MsCastillosMath @JBayWilliams That stood out to me too! I wrote that in my notes. Standard algorithms (SAs) are sometimes the best choice but not always! Forcing Ss to only use SAs actually works against their fluency. Ss need to be working toward “What’s my most efficient strategy?”
