Hi! I’m Alanna McCargo, the 18th President of @GinnieMaeGov.
I’ll work hard to provide stability for Americans, ensure our Mortgage Backed Securities remain a nimble vehicle to support the mortgage market, and continue to make affordable homeownership available for millions.
Finally, we announced the allocation of more than $2 billion in disaster funding for communities in 10 states covering 15 major disasters — including wildfires in California, hurricanes in Louisiana, and earthquakes in Puerto Rico. 13/
We released a comprehensive, Agency-wide Climate Action Plan, which details a strategy to reduce the agency’s energy and carbon footprint and put our nation’s communities on the path to building more equitable, efficient, and sustainable housing infrastructure. 12/
In a historic move to protect the LGBTQ+ community from housing discrimination, @HUDGov announced it would interpret the Fair Housing Act to bar discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. 11/
.@HUDGov announced a historically strong MMI Fund Report which showed, in addition to delivering relief to homeowners impacted by COVID, that @FHAGov continued to deliver on its mission of enabling homeownership for low- and moderate-income households and households of color. 10/
We restored the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) Requirement, a measure that ensures municipalities and other HUD funding recipients must identify and commit to taking steps to remedy their unique fair housing issues. 9/
.@HUDGov took action to increase housing supply and access to affordable housing by collaborating with @USTreasury to develop more affordable rental homes and prioritizing homeownership for families, individuals, and non-profits over large investors. 8/
.@HUDGov signed a memorandum of understanding with @FHFA to start a historic collaboration on fair housing investigation & outcomes and to enable data sharing that would effectively strengthen and affirmatively further fair housing for the mortgage industry. 7/
We removed barriers to homeownership for those with student loan debt.
By updating its student loan monthly payment policy, @FHAgov expanded access to affordable single-family FHA-insured mortgage financing for creditworthy borrowers with student loan debt. 6/
.@HUDGov successfully stood up a brand new $5 billion program to assist some of the country’s most vulnerable populations — including individuals and households experiencing or at risk of homelessness — by making funds available to 651 jurisdictions across the U.S. 5/
Through historic federal funding, including from the American Rescue Plan, & partnerships with @USTreasury and others, @HUDGov was able to prevent evictions of HUD-assisted households and stabilize families and communities struggling because of COVID-19. 4/
.@HUDGov launched House America, a national partnership with Administration officials, mayors, county officials, governors, and Tribal nation leaders across the U.S. to address the homelessness crisis through a #HousingFirst approach. 3/
After being tasked by @POTUS to lead an intergovernmental team dedicated to ensuring all Americans are treated fairly in the appraisals process, we stood up the #PAVETaskForce, a first-of-its-kind effort to root out inequity in the housing market. 2/
This year, HUD took bold action to create strong, sustainable, inclusive communities and quality affordable homes for all.
I am proud of those I serve alongside and of the results we delivered for the American people.

To the team here at HUD, #BuildBackBetter takes on a literal meaning when we're talking about disaster recovery.
Underserved communities that often bear the most impact from natural disasters deserve our attention.
@HUDGov delivered for them today: https://t.co/NlcUlfyBX7
I say it all the time: housing is infrastructure. Building homes is good for everyone – workers, communities, tenants, homeowners, businesses. When we talk about the Build Back Better Agenda, we’re talking about building and rehabilitating more than two million homes. – @SecFudge
.@HUDgov is open for business for all – promoting diverse, inclusive communities. With @POTUS’s Build Back Better Agenda, we’ll build on this progress by expanding housing choices for people who have been locked out of areas with more opportunities for far too long. – @SecFudge
Thank you to all of our partners across the country whose dedication to running secure, transparent elections strengthens our democracy. We look forward to fostering existing and new partnerships across the country in the months and years ahead.
