@luketkelly @UniMelb@gliderhabitat Amazing pocket in there. I wonder what the record density for Gg’s is on a similar distance? That would be right up there! There was a proposed logging coupe in that area #sigh#
@sarahrees I did cringe when I heard that. Considering how many panels, boards, meetings, conferences, etc etc have you given your time to in order to effect change, not just stop/shutdown rhetoric! YEARS of talking & listening
Dear @AlboMP & @Tanya_Plibersek,
Australia's > 2000 threatened species & ecological communities would like to know why there's $11.6B for fossil fuel subsidies, > $240B for stage 3 tax cuts, but just $225 million for the Saving Native Species program?

@EuanRitchie1 Totally agree! Supposed to be a fun celebration of species and educational to boot…. I’ve been disheartened by some of the weird barracking and booing 🤷♂️
This absolute whopper of a Mountain Ash.
It’s right near where I recorded a dawn chorus for A NEW EPISODE OF NATURE TRACK.
No human voices, no music, just the
sounds of a forest of giants https://t.co/QsOmTtw6lO
@BiodiversityGuy 100 years ago we did the same course. Some things lacking that would’ve helped big time were super practical things: 4x4 course, first aid, field schedule planning…. I spend more time driving than anything else!! Starting bird call ID in first year and cont all thru….?
ALERT: VicForests has begun logging among the old growth ash forests of Mt Monda #Toolangi
Ever driven through the old growth ash forests on Monda Rd? Ever hiked Tanglefoot Loop? If so, you will have seen the towering Mountain Ash trees on the mountain, many 100s years old. 1/6🧵
