What is helpful is to explain the risks of treatment when the industry itself doesn't value informed consent. And the risks are so bad that they can lead people to see it as unhelpful/harmful/not worth the risk and avoid it.

I'm impressed at how charitable people are, especially compared to what press coverage has said.

But if you've done years of therapy, meds, support programs, exhausted mainstream (& some alternative) resources & false hopes, it's silly to expect there is anything you haven't heard before. Eventually you just want to commiserate with your people.

In a world without forced treatment, there would be far less need for spaces like SS. We could speak openly without threat of being sectioned.

@AlinStLouis @PickleMamaa Suicide is selfish in a similar way to how breaking up with someone is selfish. You should consider how it impacts others, but at the end of the day, it's more selfish to force someone to continue a relationship or a life that doesn't meet their needs.
