Every orphaned block represents real energy that doesn't contribute to Bitcoin's canonical chain security.

BlockDAG architectures, such as Kaspa, are designed to incorporate that honest work instead of discarding it, improving network efficiency while maintaining Proof-of-Work security.

Bitcoin's limited base-layer throughput also means block space is scarce, causing transaction fees to rise during periods of high demand. A higher-throughput BlockDAG can process more transactions on the base layer, helping keep fees lower while still settling directly on Layer 1.

The conversation shouldn't stop at 2140.
The real question is: What funds network security when issuance is gone?

Bitcoin's limited L1 throughput means its long-term security budget depends on relatively few, high-value transactions paying enough in fees, a topic of active debate.

#Kaspa is pursuing a different model: high-throughput L1 designed to support fee generation from broad network usage.
