Something that absolutely must be said about Van Jones, famously saying 'dead Gaza baby, dead Gaza baby', while mimicking a scrolling motion on Bill Maher's repugnant show, and Sarah Hurwitz saying she can't talk to young Jews because of 'a wall of dead children' in some Jewish conference:

Both employ the same devious technique.

Both mention the dead children of Gaza that humanity has been witnessing over the past 2 years, but both do it in a way in which the children are not the subject of what they want to say. What both purport to talk about is the supposed general misinterpretation of Israel and its actions.

For both speakers, the dead children are secondary to Israel's image; they are only casually referenced as a cause of unreasonable and uncalled-for hatred for Israel.

Only this is a very sinister ploy: dead children are always the main subject of any conversation in which they are mentioned, especially now, and the two know it well. So what they're doing - pretending to use Gaza's dead children as a rhetorical tool, as if in an offhand manner, is them actually intentionally trying to normalize Israel's mass murder of Palestinian children.

They are breaking the taboo around the murder of children by mentioning it without focusing on it.

They can't say 'dead Arab children are no big deal' directly, so they say it obliquely, by bringing it up in a lighthearted way, devoid of any recognition of the horror they inspire. This casual treatment is their main purpose. This is how they normalize dead children.

Zionism has moved on from denial (combined with bragging) to trying to contain the rage by taking out the sting from the phenomenon that broke humanity's heart into a million pieces.
