We're delighted to share that @DukeLibraries has received a @US_IMLS Laura Bush grant to "develop an enhanced specialized curriculum for data curation training for library and archives staff." Special congratulations to @laffertyhess and @WeAreDCN! https://t.co/SngpbDhZwE #DCN
I think there is a recognition that librarians /curators have expertise in this area and researchers acknowledge and respect this. Also, we are enhancing the metadata, not generating it. We depend on the researcher for the base metadata. #NIHData
Excited to present today at #cni19f with @moira_downey on our reflections over the past 3 years on the evolution of the RDM and curation program @DukeLibraries!
Great conversation about collaborations (and competition?) between IRs and DRs. Thanks to @adam42smith, @tl_christian, @jrcarlso, and @kozlowwe for their candid thoughts on this topic! #rdap19
I don't think I've ever enjoyed writing an article as much as this one. Thanks to @laffertyhess for being such a great co-author on this and to IASSIST Q for running with it.
Go read it -- there is drama. There's humor. There are data elders! There's greek mythology!
Today, general ed @terrainsvagues recommends a paper born at @TriangleSCI: "Conceptualizing Data Curation Activities Within Two Academic Libraries," by @laffertyhess, Julie Rudder, Moira Downey, Susan Ivey, & @jjd_jhulib https://t.co/KpRq6sZCSC
