Strengthening India’s science ecosystem, together.
A strong pharmaceutical Research and Development (R&D) ecosystem does not grow in isolation. It is shaped through steady collaboration across education, research, and the translation of academic research into real world impact.
We are pleased to share that we have signed the Faculty Pioneer Grant with the National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research. Aimed at advancing R&D excellence across the NIPER network, the grant has been awarded to @NIPER_SAS_NAGAR.
We would like to thank all faculty members across the NIPERs who participated in the process. A special thank you to Shri Manoj Joshi (IAS), Secretary, @Pharmadept for his presence during the signing. Through partnerships like these, we continue working towards a future where research translates into meaningful outcomes for patients across India and beyond.

Congratulations to Prof. Joydev K. Laha for receiving the Faculty Pioneer Grant.
Over a decade, our research group has been involved in industrial organic synthesis that especially could address key challenges in pharmaceutical synthesis. Towards this endeavor, we have developed new, sustainable and green synthesis of APIs largely involving radical chemistry.
Editor’s Choice in JOC! To challenge simple models of the anomeric effect, we chose 49 drastically different substituents and let statistics decide:

We have openings for two postdoc positions in synthetic organic chemistry. The first position focuses on the development of new chemical methods and reagents (with targeted synthesis applications) as well as a structure-based drug discovery program in oncology.
Excited to share that my promotion to Full Professor has been officially approved by the Purdue Board of Trustees! Deeply grateful to the students, postdocs, mentors, colleagues, friends & family in this journey. Onward to the next chapter! 🙌🎓 #Gratitude https://t.co/DkjbnQ5zwv
N-formylhydrazine as the tranformylating agent to various amines using our favorite reagent K2S2O8 and extended to drug synthesis, Radical reactions in water!
Transfromylation (transfer of a formyl group from hydrazine to amines) using formylhydrazine in the presence of K2S2O8 as the exclusive reagent in water and its application in the synthesis of diuretic Chlorothiazide is reported by @LahaJoydev in #OrgLett https://t.co/Icq5084Cm5
We have a postdoc position available from 1st January 2025, for up to three years. Check out the details via this link and come and join us! https://t.co/a8G6x3cqOX @OxfordChemistry@OxfordSynthesis
Excellent diastereoselectivity in the addition of lithiated sulfonylallenes to sulfinimines: Just published in @JOC_OL . Great effort @maheshgsii82220 Thanks to #ANRF@serbonline for financial assistance.
