Most people think Jiu-Jitsu is about submitting other people…

But the longer I train, the more I realize it’s really me versus me.

It’s me versus my ego when I don’t want to tap.

It’s me versus my excuses when I don’t feel like training.

It’s me versus my frustration when I don’t feel like the progress is happening.

It’s me versus me when I feel like quitting.

The crazy part is that when I focus less on beating others and more on improving myself, that’s when I really feel like my Jiu-Jitsu starts getting better.

So my only job is to become a little better than I was yesterday.

And in my opinion, that’s the real battle in Jiu-Jitsu.
