This morning members of Lake County Firefighters responded to a Commercial Structure Fire, at the old Shell Shack in Fruitland Park. Crews are currently working the scene, US 27/441 is closed in the northbound direction

This safety standard is known as the "2 in - 2 out" rule. Having enough firefighters on duty, ready to respond is crucial to your safety. Its important to your safety, and its important to ours. #LakeCountyFFs #IAFF 3/F

Federal and State Law requires, at least, 3 Firefighters at the scene of a fire to affect rescue of someone who we know to be trapped inside a structure. 1/3

And that same law requires there to be at least 4 firefighters on scene to begin interior extinguishment if there is not an obvious rescue. 2/3

Members of Lake County Firefighters are currently on scene of a Liquid Nitrogen tanker roll over, in the round about at CR 561 and CR455. The driver was extricated from the vehicle and flown to the Trauma Center in Orlando. Hazmat crews are currently on scene mitigating the leak.
