After the past few months we had that restored my faith in humanity.
You don't magically become focused. You practice it. You notice you're distracted and snap out of it immediately, over and over again until it's second nature. Most people have not trained this muscle, and they are not anywhere close to as focused as they think they are.
Realizing that you’re incompatible with someone (because they don’t meet your basic standards of courtesy, respect and reciprocation) and choosing to walk away instead of forcing it/blaming yourself/fantasizing about their potential is a superpower. Look how much you’ve grown.
I don’t care how small a thing it is, if someone tells you they don’t like something and asks you not to do it and you continue to do it then you deserve whatever reaction you get from that person no matter how wild the reaction may be.
Can’t stress it enough, but when you get married, go and make friends with other married people that believe in marriage. Your friends aren’t always “y’all” friends…
Stop letting people consume you. They didn’t call? Go to sleep. They didn’t message you? Put your phone down and have a better day. They left you on read? Delete the conversation. They didn’t make an effort? Match their energy. Don't let anyone drain you of your happiness.
