Maybe if I post every day for a year, my health stats will improve. Goals for the year: 1) get my sleeping heart rate below 40, 2) do either 1 strength exercise or cardio daily, and 3) get 355 on bench press. Starting the year at 42-43 bpm, did pull-ups today for strength, and I think I’m at about 275 on bench (confirming this tomorrow). Let’s go. (1/365)
Work is the dot-product of force (vector) and displacement (vector). It's not the magnitude of forces that he applied, but the directions of those forces... i.e. the optimal directions in decision-space. The integral of those dot-products is why he actually did work that hard.
The Left is on the attack against the first trillionaire. Here's how not to defend him:
"He worked hard."
Really?! Did Musk work a million times harder than a millionaire?? The Labor Theory of Value is debunked. Leave it to the Marxists.
When the boring World Cup comes to an end, the entire planet will be entranced by the phenomenal competitive and riviting sport, Hobby Horsing.

Growing up is realizing that Ayn Rand went through what we are going through. Everything she wrote was about that. Generations of "educated" people made fun of her. But she was right. She knew what was coming. The West laughed. It should have listened.
every good outcome I’ve seen has been from finding a secret and doubling, tripling down on it in a way that compounds over time. not necessary that it even remains a secret because nobody ever believes you anyways; if it was something easy to accept it wouldn’t be available
human memory is unreliable on purpose.
every time you recall a memory, you rebuild it from compressed structure and fill the gaps with what should have been there. the brain optimizes for usefulness over accuracy.
this distortion is makes the system powerful. both compression into reusable structure and faithful recording cannot win.
storage-based memory in AI does not have this problem. a context window and a RAG database retrieve verbatim. they do not compress, so the stored record stays faithful. but they also do not learn, generalize, or carry a model forward.
the moment you build real consolidation, you inherit the brain’s failure mode. a system that reviews what happened and writes a compressed version forward will get some of it wrong, and then treat that compressed version as ground truth on the next cycle. hallucination moves from generation into memory.
the brain chose useful over true.
I voted for Gore, Obama twice, and Hillary.
It is difficult to imagine a scenario in which I would vote for any Democrat over a viable Republican under any circumstances ever again. I hate these people.
Insane that we'll end up producing 99% of our energy from space, and send it down as intelligence. Literally no other way to send this much energy back — intelligence ended up being the densest form of energy we discovered.
Years ago, when Jussie Smollet was assaulted by two deep-southern KKK members who happened to be wandering around Chicago in a blizzard with some rope and bleach — you know, just in case — I had an idea.
I speculated that the supply of racism couldn't keep up with demand, and the price of racism would rise steeply, leading to a surge in black-market counterfeit racism to fill the market gap.
At least until more genuine racism could be manufactured.
Now, the moment has arrived, and lefties, desperate for a new source of racism, have started advertising their willingness to purchase it.
Well, never let it be said that Devon Eriksen doesn't give the people want they want.
For $1000, I will call you a racial slur on twitter.
For $2000, I will call you a racial slur in person, in front of an audience. (You must pay for all travel arrangements and sign a waiver assuming civil and criminal liability for any violent consequences.)
For $10,000, I will design a custom racist rant wherein I abuse you in public with all sorts of controversial and racially charged language.
I also offer special deals on sexism, and can provide bigotry against homosexuals, Muslims, trannies, Jews, and people who voluntarily live in Luxembourg. I can also do immigration status and intelligence level.
I also offer fat jokes, which I outsource to a team of bodybuilders, fitness models, and personal trainers. Former Olympians also available at a premium.
I don't anti-Christian. Can't touch it. Market's flooded. Maybe in a few years when they start trying to outlaw oral sex or something.
To be honest, this is a bit of side hustle right now, I still pay the bills with writing fiction... and occasionally satire.
But I look forward to the day when I can go full time and proudly hang a shingle over my office door:
Devon Eriksen: Professional Racist.
@mattpocockuk I briefly checked, but I paused as I wondered whether the "src/{entityName}" was a required pattern for the glossary items. Is it? I have a monorepo with code related to a given entity scattered among different layers in Lambda functions, front end code, etc.
