Pennsylvania has blocked the state's attempt to shut down Amos Miller's Farm.

Amos Miller, an Amish farmer in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, had his farm raided by the Department of Agriculture earlier this year, seizing thousands of dollars' worth of food.

Yet, despite the raid, the government couldn't provide a single piece of evidence showing that anyone in Pennsylvania—or anywhere else—has ever been harmed by any of Amos Miller's products.

Farm mornings do not wait on a matching pair.
He’s about three. One shoe is already a casualty. The dog handled that. So he puts on what’s left — two different shoes, both for the left foot — and keeps moving. Chicken still needs tending. Chores still need doing. Then a frog pees like it’s on the schedule too.
That’s the whole lesson. Nobody sat him down for a speech about responsibility. The farm just kept being the farm. Animals don’t pause because your outfit failed. Work doesn’t pause because the morning got weird. You put on the wrong shoe twice and you still show up.
This is how little boys on a place like this learn it. Not from a poster on the wall. From a chicken that still expects breakfast, a dog that already ate the evidence, and a frog that has no sense of timing.
Matching shoes are optional. Showing up is not.

A woman received an automated $70 delivery of prescription dog food on her front porch.

Her dog had died three days earlier.

Most ecommerce companies would generate an RMA slip, deduct shipping fees, and tell her to carry the 30-pound bag to a drop-off depot.The Chewy support agent refunded the entire $70 charge while they were still talking on the phone.

Then she gently asked her to donate the unopened bag to a local animal rescue instead of returning it.

The woman felt relieved and thanked the rep before hanging up.

Two days later, the doorbell rang.Standing outside was a local florist holding a bouquet of fresh flowers with a handwritten card signed by the Chewy agent offering condolences for her dog.

Chewy sends over 10,000 handwritten cards and custom floral deliveries every single year to grieving pet owners.

Spreadsheet purists would cut that budget line immediately.

That quiet line item is the exact reason customers stay with them for life.I owned restaurants for a decade.

Learning about this type of service was one of the most important lessons I took with me.

Treating people with genuine empathy during difficult moments builds relationships no marketing budget can replicate.
