[2/2] This Tulse Hill Robinia has no legal protection.

Although non-native "invasive", it cools the street, sequesters carbon, is habitat.

The owner has been advised by a neighbour that they may face legal action if the tree is not removed.

So down it comes. "Just in case."

Brockwell Park update -
The planning officer has confirmed to me that a tree replacement scheme is finally being worked out.
It should according to the conditions have been made long before tree removal started weeks ago.
@RezinaChowdhury perhaps you can look into this?

This is all too common. Developers fell all trees on newly purchased private land prior to submitting planning permission to avoid any planning restrictions due to the trees.

Something must change in the law.

In Clapham Park MTVH has long had permission to remove 359 trees and acres of parkland.
We need better laws and protections for all beings, ultimately.
Many of these are being killed right now here

[1/2] Just been told by a Lambeth officer that no replacement scheme exists for the already removed trees in Brockwell Park.
It was a planning condition for tree work!!!

@savecentralhill In retrospect, not the perfect word :D ("hosting" would be better) but - the Council sold the land to Metropolitan, they stand to gain housing, population, and rates from it, and accepted a rubbish deal when it comes to tree replacement - in that sense, they're sponsors.
