"Lay Down!"
Sometimes, that's all you can do when the aurora explodes right overhead. In this clip, I tell my friends to lay down and stop taking photos - this is a moment worth watching and enjoying without the worry of capturing it. I'm laying in the snow just watching the skies open up above me, the camera resting on my hip while I take it all in.
New video! We're still aglow over the @LAMP_rocket mission, and excited to hear more from Aurorasaurus Ambassadors @spacesci4life and @Vincent_Ledvina about what it was like to take part! This week they shared their experiences with our Ambassador group: https://t.co/3wX40LqSpl
Good night world!
Here's my magnum opus of aurora timelapses, over 8000 images over 17 nights of spectacular northern lights over Fort Yukon, Alaska. I really pushed myself harder than ever to create something special. Let me know what you think.
An update to a story of mine from February, @LAMP_rocket has launched! I spoke with Dr. Allison Jaynes from @physicsastron about the mission, and spoiler alert, it went pretty well 😁🚀

@Vincent_Ledvina@UAFGI Thank you so much for your support of the LAMP launch! Your observations were invaluable for calling the launch. And I think we can do some great science with the video you've collected.
A cloudy night can be a real bummer... especially when the solar wind is also low. We're off Saturday night, too. Catch you all on Sunday for the next chance at a launch.
Pulsating aurora! At the end of the night (early 2/24) as seen through the observation room ceiling and captured by @MikeShumko. Stay tuned tomorrow when we get the rocket pointed up and ready to go!
Beautiful aurora through the clouds last night (2/23)! Time lapse by @MikeShumko. Tonight we are waiting on rocket payload issues to be resolved, launch window will pick up again tomorrow.
