@montie I think the “growth in every postcode” line was a mistake as well. It’s not realistic but there’s no indication Wales and Scotland have had growth due to devolution anyway.
@EduardHabsburg I understand exactly where you’re coming from. I’m no great fan of this style of architecture and was very sceptical about it until I visited and stood inside myself. At that point the beautiful space and clear devotion of the building overwhelmed me and I became a fan.
The next Conservative government will abolish stamp duty on your home.
Because Britain should be a country where people who wish to own their own home, can.
@montie Reform are not answering the tough questions, for example what exactly are they going to do about legitimate Ukrainian refugees and those from Hong Kong and what would they have done if they were in power at the time?
@montie It’s easy for Reform to offer simplistic solutions having never been tested by the responsibilities of government. The Conservatives governed within fiscal, legal, and moral constraints that populism conveniently sidesteps.
@Marwood_PostLib The Rolling Stones do not play British music. They may have been born British but the temptation of American Blues /Pop and R&B proved too strong for them. I would suggest Edward Elgar or musical with a strong beat like the tune “The British Grenadiers”.
Starmer is trying to justify his broken promises. This was always the plan - Labour knew they couldn’t deliver on their words. Raising taxes and deserting pensioners to fund pay rises for the Unions - these are the decisions they’ve taken. They should own them.
This is such an awkward interview for Labour MP Ellie Reeves. Stuttering because she’s defending the indefensible.
They look pathetic trying to justify millionaire donor, Lord Alli, gaining access to no 10 after years of saying they’ll ’clean up politics’ with ‘transparency’.
Keir Starmer’s speech today showed a surprising amount of ignorance from the get-go. He says “wealth creation is the No1 priority of this Labour government. That’s why, in our first few weeks, we’ve set up a National Wealth Fund”
Setting up a wealth fund doesn’t create wealth, anymore than registering a new business creates profit 😅
Labour genuinely believe making an announcement is the same as taking action. They think they can lay the blame for their future failures on Conservatives…not on my watch.
"Cabinet ministers accepted hundreds of thousands in union donations before striking pay deals
"Labour’s top team have received £480,000 from their ‘paymasters’ since 2019"
