Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers basically waved off Elon’s OpenAI appeal, saying the jury’s statute of limitations ruling is tough to overturn.

An activist judge letting Sam Altman skate after he hijacked a nonprofit charity — originally pledged to benefit all humanity — and turned it into his $150B+ personal for-profit empire? That’s not justice.

Stealing a charity for profit is not OK. You don’t get to rewrite the mission, pocket the upside, and hide behind “time limits” while betraying the public trust. OpenAI’s founding promise was destroyed in broad daylight.

This makes zero sense.

Elon Musk’s lawyer, Marc Toberoff, on today’s verdict in the OpenAI case:

“I have a one-word reaction: Appeal. This war is not over. We firmly believe what happened with OpenAI was wrong on a very basic level that you can't raise millions of dollars in a publicly subsidized charity, and when it suits you, just turn into a for-profit operation where the officers and directors of the charity enrich themselves to the tune of billions, and that's what actually happened here, and that's just wrong."

Regarding the OpenAI case, the judge & jury never actually ruled on the merits of the case, just on a calendar technicality.

There is no question to anyone following the case in detail that Altman & Brockman did in fact enrich themselves by stealing a charity. The only question is WHEN they did it!

I will be filing an appeal with the Ninth Circuit, because creating a precedent to loot charities is incredibly destructive to charitable giving in America.

OpenAI was founded to benefit all of humanity.

Gabryele “Gabby” Watson was sentenced to 20 months in federal prison on four counts of cyberstalking, two counts of interstate transmission of threats to kidnap or injure, and two counts of unlawful use of a means of identification. From May to June 2023, Watson cyberstalked a married couple living in Tennessee, who had been trying to adopt a baby. She assumed the identity of a real 16-year-old who was pregnant, obtaining accurate PII about her, including pictures and information from her social media posts. Watson previously engaged in the same disturbing conduct with another couple.
