The front page of tomorrow's @dailytarheel –
I shed many tears while typing up these heart-wrenching text messages sent and received by UNC students yesterday. Our campus was on lockdown for more than three hours.
Beyond proud of this cover and the team behind it.
Hypothetical: if the man with debilitating Parkinson’s is free or the beast when bicycling would he be disease-free if he somehow lived on a bike? Why haven’t we devoted more study to PD brain on bike or similar for model? Off/on switch? Early happy b-day @basbloem!
@laurenTarshis My best friend's class would love this. They start off the year reading I Survived the San Francisco Earthquake, 1906 and spend a good part of their year working on revision. What a great opportunity for the kids. Thank you for offering this.
82 years ago Lou Gehrig was diagnosed with ALS and told to go home and prepare to die.
3 years ago my husband was told the same thing.

Barnes & Noble’s Banned Books section (kids edition). Please zoom in on the reasons, and question why we would ever allow to these small minded people decide what our children can read.

Favor to ask: can you please retweet the tweet below so that the world can hear it and see a person with ALS.
Some call me strong. I call myself lucky. I have had time that most ALS patients don’t get.
Let’s change that, together.
Today is a good day. There has been a countdown on my daughter’s phone for almost 9 months and today that countdown hit zero. She is a HUGE @twentyonepilots fan and tonight we are going to go and see them in concert again. This time it will hit us a little differently.
We got home from the hospital that night just in time to watch their Livesteam Experience. I think knowing it was on that day helped my daughter deal with such a scary day. After watching it, I had a song that I played almost every day as my wife went through radiation.
If you’re looking for unfair things about the way we do education in the US I suggest looking at literally any part of it.
We base /elementary school funding/ on /local property taxes/. It’s monstrous.
This is a disappointing ruling from SCOTUS.
When you allow discrimination against LGBTQ couples and call it religious liberty, you deprive kids like mine of families who will love them. https://t.co/G4QXSbnXYn
@colbertlateshow@BENEEMUSIC We have taken our 2 teenagers to several concerts. BENEE opening for @conangray is still one of our most favorite shows. She was an awesome performer to watch! Great job tonight! My daughter keeps saying we need to move to New Zealand so we can see her again. :)
America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country.
The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not.
I will keep the faith that you have placed in me.
@bradyaz911 You can judge them on the standards of human decency - which isn’t just a 21st century standard. They might have done great things, but it doesn’t negate the bad. Maybe we should stop putting people on pedestals - including our “founding fathers”.
