I'm calling it "Death by 100 ads."
Took over a CPG brand's Meta account with 140+ ads in ONE ad set.
Almost half of budget was going to ads that only spent $5–$50 each. Not much you can learn from that.
We split the creative into ad sets by angle last week.
CAC is already down ~40%.
@WillowGagnon Work backwards from how much spend each test actually needs (based on CAC) rather than chase a set number of ads. At $20k/day, 10–20 genuinely different anglse/concepts a week is probably plenty if each one is getting enough budget to actually tell you something.
Nothing like turning off all of Meta's ad "enhancements", publishing the ad, and coming back to find all of them (except the one I actually want) turned back on.
Why am I having to babysit settings I've already turned off?
How is this still a thing in 2026?
We took over a brand whose previous agency was reporting 7x ROAS on Google.
Dug into the account and 99% of spend was branded search with basically zero competition.
We paused Google to see if it was actually driving sales.
Revenue barely moved.
Came back from Charleston reminded that in person is unmatched.
You can’t beat it.
I spend most of my time staring at a screen, so getting a few days to hang out with other people in the agency space, grab a beer, shoot the shit and hear about the cool things they're building was a nice change of pace.
Stoked for the next in person.
You have to separate yourself from the competition.
You have to be more appealing to your target audience, and you can achieve it by creating a recognizable personal brand.
Company dashboards should feel like video games:
• Goals: employees should feel like they’re chasing goals whenever they open
• Achievements: unlock rewards if team hits specific goals (bonus $, experiences, cool shit)
• Social: explore data together
Nobody has built this.
