@bitcoinpanda69@inversebrah fooo as a father, plushie death is inevitable and also necessary. and why puff the magic dragon is the saddest song in the world
Love this post. Want to push back a little. Hasn't the industry always been about fine tuning & taste making? Starting a song with an identifiable hook has been happening since the 50s. Musical subcultures have always evolved and persisted.
Now that songwriting takes literally zero effort it's a matter of the proven wily industry matching each optimized blueprint/song to performer. I think and hope value will shift to live performance, especially as the egregore rejects ai/automation like a disease before succumbing.
Feels like I'm getting off track but I think a lot about this and how a the arts and music specifically is about to be disrupted
@DegenPing tech/electricity/hashrate which today is taken for granted won't be as reliable, so crypto may not be the move.
a few chunks of gold always good
can't count on limitless fuel for your PJ. remote land and some farming books prob your best bet. maybe lots of books.
Common sentiment is that cryptos compete with one another in a zero-sum game. This is why each tribe is so tribalistic. BTC maxis hate ETH. ETH maxis hate SOL. Everyone hates XRP, and so on.
But empirically, over a decade, these assets rise and fall together. Extreme correlation of one asset doing well when others are doing well, and vice versa.
But all of it—all of the wild bickering mass of true innovation and sinful grift and everything in between that is crypto—is really a collective civilizational protest against fiat, the banking system, and a regime of oppression.
And ultimately, this chaotic diversity of assets, engineering tradeoffs, personalities, time preferences, and aesthetic tastes, is a fundamental and proper consequence of decentralization—that most important virtue with which Bitcoin was first imbued and from which every financial experiment shall and must be tried.
So yes, avoid the garbage, expose the fraud, but recognize that this hurtling force of energy is fundamentally the same impulse, the same essential innovation, expressed through a million subjective human lenses...
...and it is heading directly into the core of the Death Star which is so, so fucked.
They've gone full mask-off: 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 trust @OpenAI or its products (ChatGPT etc). There is only one reason for appointing an @NSAGov Director to your board. This is a willful, calculated betrayal of the rights of every person on Earth. You have been warned.
@Fullbeerbottle I think it's more that their gains are off sketchy 2017 / 2021 deals, which will eventually catch up to them if they remain in a real country.
The answer to "what prompted it" is, of course, that the White House and Intel Committee felt a need to scare Members of Congress into line for a certain set of controversial pro-war and/or surveillance votes. Gosh, I wonder if there are any of those coming up on the calendar.
The good news is that this is a one-time thing, and they would never do this when covering elections, pandemics, the scrupulously legal and totally uninteresting mass surveillance that's logging your viewing of this tweet right this second, or our ten thousand endless proxy wars.
