@snovcome@Separer This will have the complete opposite effect as you are more likely to get Destiny 1 and 2 servers shut down long term if Sony decides to pack up Bungie due to Marathon flopping.
@JoshM574 Obviously do what you want, you are an adult and can make your own choices. You alone aren’t the deciding factor here, but if there are thousands of people like you who would be playing Marathon if not for this unfortunate situation, it’s 100 percent over for Bungie and Destiny.
@JoshM574 I too put thousands of hours into Destiny between 1 and 2. But the game wasn’t going to last forever. Taking your frustration out on the remaining employees who had nothing to do with that decision isn’t going to help anyone. Boycotting Marathon just isn’t the play here.
@wendygall31@MacticsG1 But that’s fine. Not wanting to play because the game or genre doesn’t appeal to you is valid. However, anyone who says they actually enjoy/enjoyed marathon and was planning on playing until D2 was canned is different. That’s being vindictive and actively going to kill Bungie.
@Serj_7509@PiggyKropotkinn I don’t disagree and that would be a nice option. the more the merrier. But I met several people I play with every night using crew fill in Cryo Archive. Sometimes you just have a great game and ask if you can play a few more rounds and you might make a reliable friend or two
@JustTeeBee@Pheonix__ttv@casualblu3 I think it’s fine. That was pretty situational anyways. I think what they did is the best solution to actually force the people opening pinwheel to actually engage with the security bots spawning.
@Pheonix__ttv@JustTeeBee@casualblu3 Agreed. Nullified the entire point of the security spawning and just hiding on a shelf. God forbid Bungie always intended for us to actually engage with the bots.
@MKovyatkin left looks a lot better with proper shadowing and areas only lit up from the light sources. Second image has unnatural glowing in areas that should be in shadow and weird shining on the pipes that make no sense from the light. With these in mind, I would guess left is Lumen.
@gubilas_lair@BRobo82 They aren’t used much anymore because of the high performance cost since they work by rendering the scene twice. Modern games with high geometry don’t scale well. RT can have artifacts but it’s easy to implement scales better and applies to every surface and shape and material.
@gubilas_lair@BRobo82 Planar reflections. An old technique and with great results but it doesn’t work on curved surfaces or rough materials. In this case for just flat glass reflections it’s a perfectly good use case.
