〽️🥎WOLVERINES WIN!!!

Thanks to homeruns from @ambercheplick @kaylalaquiere and a grand slam from @laniellinger00 , the Wolverines soared ahead of Rochester to clench the double header.

Ellinger & @erinmccune_ both took home wins as the starting pitchers with a combined 7 K’s

[Jalen Paul @JalenPaul4]

Please stop acting like this is about the safety of your students. This is all about you inflating your own ego. Stop stealing from your students in an attempt to feel “smart.”

[Madelin Skene @MadelinSkene]

@DarrenMcCarty4 heard you think athletes not being able to play due to Covid wasn’t fair. Us student athletes at UMD have had a whole years worth of sports taken away based off of one persons decision at our school. Our leadership is very questionable.

[Madelin Skene @MadelinSkene]

Didn’t know I was paying for someone to take away my passion. Because God knows I’m not paying for a quality education.

[Madelin Skene @MadelinSkene]

Senior year on the horizon and I’ve played 1 season in college. @UM_Dearborn ‘s leaders have been making mine and the rest of us athletes personal health decisions for us for a year now. With what seems like no consideration for anything.

[Madelin Skene @MadelinSkene]

I wish I could pack up my team and take our passion, love for the game and most of all, MONEY elsewhere!!!!! This nightmare called leadership at this school leaves me speechless. Just wondering how long these sorry excuses will last. What a joke. @UM_Dearborn

[Madelin Skene @MadelinSkene]

All of us athletes would like to take a look at that “survey.” @ChanceGrasso

[Jack Hook @jackhook25]

Hey @ChanceGrasso we want that jersey back that @GoUMDearborn gave you 2 years ago

[Erin☀️ @erinmccune_]

My heart goes out to all of my fellow UMD student athletes. Please take care of your mental health. I am always here to talk to. You are not alone in this.

[Trenton Daughtry @t_daughtry0]

If this decision was really about the student athletes, you should have given US a chance to speak our minds. If this is about safety, we would be in our own gym with our own teammates in a controlled environment like every other team in the nation. This is not the right move...

[HUGE @Hugeshow]

University of Michigan education system is flawed to cancel winter sports for their Dearborn extension while not doing the same thing in Ann Arbor. Why punish only the student athletes on the Dearborn campus?

[Jalen Paul @JalenPaul4]

Today the University of Michigan - Dearborn cancelled all sports through March 1, effectively cancelling the winter sports season. We are 1 of only 2 schools in the country to do so. Please sign and retweet the petition attached below and help us fight for what it right.

[Jason Gigliotti @jasongigg32]

Conditions do permit! Clearly you have not looked around the country. EVERYONE ELSE IS PLAYING! Teams in our own conference will be playing next month! This is an outright showing of disrespect to us athletes to save money for your precious salary.

[ash♚ @AshlynnHenders7]

Every other team in the WHAC is allowed to play/practice. They were at least given a chance to follow COVID-19 guidelines. Where’s our chance?

[Erin☀️ @erinmccune_]

If you actually cared about student athletes, we would have found ways to follow safety guidelines for COVID just as every other school has. Where’s our chance? Where’s our voice?

[Tyler Koons @2kKoons]

How can we train at gyms and other places but not as a team at our own university? How can every school in the nation be moving toward playing but we are still moving backwards? There is no care for athletics by Michigan Dearborn and it is sad. @UM_Dearborn @GoUMDearborn

[Justin Prince @JPrinceSports]

Wow.

Tough, tough news out of Michigan for athletes at UMD
