Two days of early voting are done in Louisiana.
Only 10,000 of the state’s 925,000 Black voters have shown up so far. That means more than 915,000 Black voters still can go do your part and vote.
Republicans are leading Democrats in early voting 22,000 to 14,000.
If you live in East Baton Rouge Parish, vote YES for the Council on Aging and YES for our libraries. In the Senate runoff, go vote for Jamie Davis.

Almost 60 years ago, LBJ boldly nominated a former civil rights lawyer to the highest court in the land.
A wonderful reminder that, when it comes to the Supreme Court, we should always demand its justices are committed to equal justice under law, no matter who is president.
Viola Fletcher, the last living witness of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, has passed away at 111. Her legacy of strength and survival will never be forgotten. 🕊️🙏🏾

Joshua Henry's Tony Award speech was so great
"Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell, thank you for your Black-don't-crack legacy of artistic brilliance, showing us that we can shine in the fullness of who we are. It is an honor to play this role, a Black musician whose art led him to his love and to his dream."
He just won Lead Actor in a Musical for Ragtime
This is really stupid, and it’s not getting enough attention.
The Trump administration is pulling a working $368 million ocean monitoring system out of the water, equipment taxpayers already bought, built, and sank into the deep ocean.
And they are doing it right when the oceans are behaving in ways that alarm the scientists who study them.
Record-breaking temperatures.
A system of Atlantic currents that may be lurching toward collapse.
The response?
Yank out the instruments and walk away.
That is not budgeting. That is smashing the gauges while the engine is on fire and calling it efficiency.
For what? The Trump administration dressed it up as a “nimbler approach” and “smart lifecycle management,” which is fancy nonsense for “we shut it off and hoped nobody would ask why.” There is no return-on-investment analysis. They cannot show taxpayers save a dime, because the gear is already paid for and the science it produces protects real money and real lives.
The kicker: the same people killing the monitors want to mine the deep sea for minerals. So they are destroying the only tools that could measure what that mining does. That is not an accident.
That is the point. You cannot see the damage if you break the instruments first.

Sunday marks the 105-year commemoration of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. The events of that day in Tulsa, Oklahoma, still reverberate throughout a community seeking justice. https://t.co/Nrkz07Ub2F
