My kid just said: “It’s sad to watch a pack of lies beat a good person just because the good person can’t speak.”
I literally just gave him a hug and said that “debates don’t matter.”
@MountainDreami2@thejackhopkins we can laugh all we want, and judge, but you need to be honest; if we allowed Pollievre into power, we’ll be on the same path the States are. and it is very possible that we ourselves are going to mess it all up, and let Pollievre in. ♂️
From an email, from a Bowness resident:

It’s worth mentioning that, no other politicians who attended Mulroney’s funeral today made partisan comments or took swipes at each others parties. Because they knew Mulroney wouldn’t appreciate it. Except this guy. He respects nobody. Not even another Conservative X PM.
Our job is to serve everyday Albertans, to focus on their priorities.
It’s not to line our pockets.
The UCP doesn’t agree.
The bill yesterday was just the latest move to pay themselves, their friends and insiders.
It gets even worse.
Those rejoicing over the Prime Minister’s marriage separation need a serious hard look in the mirror at themselves. You should not find joy in others’ personal pain.
I’m a medical student in Alberta.
Not a single one of my classmates are international students.
85% of my class is explicitly comprised of people from Alberta.
If there is a doctor shortage, it’s because Alberta trained grads don’t want to work under a morally bankrupt gov.
Education is nonpartisan, but when everything is up to the whims of politicians - it is by definition political, and we need to decide whether we do believe in Public Education as a fundamental value.
You can't fix a gaping wound with bandaids. Those are called Kludges, and it seems like every time there is an election, we don't fix foundations; we just build more Kludges.
We don't need any more meetings, panels, PD, surveys, or testing. We just need Legislation like the Education Act sections 11, 33, 40, etc, to have teeth.
No more passing the buck or band-aid solutions used as campaign slogans.
How many kids and adults falling through the cracks is an acceptable number? How many do we have now?
If we don't enforce the legislation we already have, what is the point of campaign promises?
If we are picking and choosing who benefits from f*ing LEGISLATION, is that a legal entitlement or privilege?
Who is accountable for failing to live up to LEGISLATION?
Just your daily reminder that the UCP choke and release funding strategy is a ploy for re-election. Once back in they will continue to harvest the public system for their cronies’ profit while shrinking the middle class. Education, environment and healthcare are up for sale.
Local woman wakes up, organizes an oatmeal convoy which involves pouring oatmeal into the truck gas tanks of anyone attending freedom convoys this weekend, makes oatmeal.
Showing sympathy to an international war criminal and an illegal invasion of Ukraine demonstrates horrendous judgment.
This isn’t leadership. It’s harmful to Alberta’s international reputation and could cause long-term damage to our economic future. #ableg#yyc#yeg
Danielle Smith's comments today on discrimination were completely disrespectful and tone deaf in light of all the work we are collectively committing to with respect to truth and reconciliation.

Danielle Smith expressed concerns about how the unvaccinated were treated. I can personally assure her that we treated all of them in the ICU during the delta wave with kindness, dignity and respect, even while some of their families called us murderers and threatened our lives.
Red Deer Hospital “was so overwhelmed, two children with serious injuries had to be airlifted out to other hospitals”.
A healthcare system in crisis. Silence from the UCP.
We cannot accept this as the new norm. There’s a better path forward.

Our kids will grow up surrounded by unprecedented levels of information and misinformation. It won’t be about finding info, but about evaluating how good it is.
They deserve a curriculum that teaches them that, that is what’s at stake in the next election. #AbLeg
