Using a large cross country dataset and three preregistered experiments, we found this effect exists. In addition, this effect can be generalized to meritocracy perception, equality perception and need principle perception!

Specifically, we used one global dataset and two experiments and found that natural disaster risk can foster conspiracy beliefs, while the effect of natural disaster risk can be attenuated by enhancing coping capacity of countries. These findings suggest a possible intervention.

When natural disasters occur, it is quite common to see conspiracy theories emerge. In this paper, we investigated this interesting relationship through empirical methods.
I wonder whether journal editors could consider giving authors a chance to correct editors or reviewers mistakes or misunderstanding of the paper before rejecting it. I have met this situations twice in my first two years of PhD careers… It’s just unfair. Arguing is unrealistic
