In a heartbreaking incident at #Ramenahalli in #Tumakuru taluk, a young man who tried to expose an extramarital affair and sought justice for the man's wife has died by suicide, fearing for his life.

Before his death, the young man recorded a selfie video on his mobile, naming those responsible for his death.

Chetan (deceased), a resident of Ramenahalli village, had informed Suma, the wife of Katte Nagaraju from the same village, about her husband's extramarital affair.

Chetan's revelation that Katte Nagaraju was involved in an illicit relationship with another woman led to a major confrontation between the couple at their home.

During this, Suma told her husband that Chetan had informed her about the matter.

Enraged that his secret was out, Katte Nagaraju allegedly confronted Chetan and threatened to kill him.

Furthermore, threatening messages were also sent to Chetan from Suma's mobile phone. It is learned that he was subjected to mental harassment with messages like, "My husband will break your legs, beware."

Distressed by Katte Nagaraju's threats and mental harassment, Chetan consumed poison in a suicide attempt.

Before consuming the pills, he recorded a selfie video on his mobile, explaining that Katte Nagaraju and his wife were responsible for his death. He was immediately rushed to Siddaganga Hospital in Tumakuru, but Chetan succumbed to death after a day of treatment.

Chetan's grief-stricken father has filed a complaint at Hebbur Police Station.

However, the fact that police have registered the case merely as an unnatural death (UDR) instead of filing an FIR against the accused has angered the family.

Family members have made serious allegations, stating, "The police are protecting Katte Nagaraju succumbing to political pressure."

Expressing dissatisfaction with the #HebburPolice's actions, Chetan's family has today filed a complaint with the Tumakuru District Superintendent of Police (SP). They are demanding the immediate arrest of Katte Nagaraju, who is responsible for their son's death, and those who threatened him, and that an FIR be registered.

Chetan's selfie video has now become crucial evidence in the case, and it remains to be seen what further action the police will take.
