One of the best things you can do to boost your self-confidence is to make a promise to yourself and keep it.
So promise yourself you won’t step on the scale or body check yourself.
And then keep that promise & see how good it feels!
Reminder to not compare yourself to a rich famous person w staff to help her get all her tasks done.
If you’re not finishing ur laundry or getting ur workout done cuz you’re tired while Taylor Swift’s staff released her album during her tour, don’t worry. You’re doing just fine
If u want to improve ur health, then focus on health promoting behaviours.
If u want to improve ur strength, then focus on strength building exercises.
If u want to improve ur cardio, then focus on cardio exercises.
You don’t need to weigh yourself to do any of the above.
Remember that all your weight tells you is the force of gravity on your body at a given moment, that’s it. It doesn’t tell you anything about your actual body composition, strength, endurance, health, flexibility or worth as a human.
At this time of year there’s more people than usual sharing their weight loss progress which can be very triggering for some. If you’ve felt bothered by this please try to remind yourself just how meaningless weight actually is.
I can already feel the endurance & strength that I’ve lost & that is a bit frustrating sure, but I’m reminding myself that like everything else in life, fitness is meant to ebb and flow. I’m trying to embrace this season of my life & not put unnecessary pressure on myself
I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but if your self-care practices fall to the wayside during times of busy, stress, and uncertainty - that is completely normal!
Instead of working out 5-6 days per week at moderate to high intensities, I’ve been doing good to get 2 or 3 workouts in each week at low to moderate intensities.
Let’s normalize the fact that people can be very athletically fit in all different types and sizes of bodies.
I’m sick of seeing this narrative that you can be either fit OR fat.
There’s a whole bunch of ppl out here that are both fit AND fat and we matter too!!
If you’re struggling with out of control cravings & binging pls have a look at your overall relationship with food. Do you allow yourself to fully enjoy all food?
This is nuanced of course, but this is just one aspect that was personally really eye opening for me!
There is nothing wrong with you if you aren’t able to count calories without it being problematic for you. You are human. Your body & brain are doing what they must to keep you alive & counting calories w/ a daily cal goal in mind is perceived as restriction for A LOT of people!
I could never just fully ENJOY all foods cuz everything I ate was masked as either helping me lose weight or making me gain weight! That is how I saw food!!
This allowed me to find the true JOY in exercise. It allowed me to develop a healthy & happy relationship with food and my body!
It’s such a huge relief every time I realize that I never have to worry about trying to change my body size again!! 10/10 recommend a diet-free life!
During a tough time in life it hit me - I couldn’t do it anymore.
Worrying about how many calories, points, carbs are in every little thing I eat.
Needing to measure and track every morsel of food that I put in my mouth.
I just couldn’t live that life anymore. I vowed to never diet again. To never again concern myself with portion sizes or calories or carbs. To never again eat by the clock.
