Railway pricing in UK is a scam!

Trying to travel to a meeting in 2 weeks time. 2 separate areas (SWR & GWR).

I used Trainline app and got a fare of £43.99.

SWR app fare £89.70

GWR app fare £89.70

Separating the two legs on the 2 apps gave me a fare of £34.60

Giving up.
