En dan de reactie van de politie. Alsof deze mensen een uitzondering zijn. Ze kunnen de kranten vullen met vergelijkbare verhalen! De politie staat hier niet alleen in, dit zijn het soort muren waar patiënten overal tegenaan lopen. Tot aan de landelijke overheid aan toe. Wantrouwen, uitstellen, beknibbelen. Maar leveren, ho maar.

(…) injustice where we can’t make sense of our own experiences because of the powerstructures at play. “Find your people” is especially important given the history of autism and regardless of the type of diagnosis you have. I hope that phrase will someday be my paper title 🤘🏻

This 👇🏻. Also self-diagnosis is frowned upon because it’s not “officially done by a professional” while the same professional discriminates against women, people of color etc. Self-diagnosis can lead to a community, access to information, peer support and better mental health.
