@SisterMaryDande I’m 34 years with Type 1, and I recognize it’s a different beast but if any doctor said that to my face we would have some words. You deserve support, not shame. Xo
@MikeEhrmantrout 2/ if they are violent/upset at us then something is also triggered inside of them. We can choose to walk away, because in that moment we aren’t able to help them. We can call on others who can help them.
@MikeEhrmantrout Abuse is a pattern of intentional behaviors over and over again. The idea that a medical condition is to be taken personally is more about us than the patient. Meaning, why are we taking their behavior so personally, what is triggered inside us. 1/
@freedomsbride 2/2 you deserve to have a beautiful family and you already are the most amazing mom. I know you might feel like there’s lots of reasons to think you’re not but none of those reasons are true. Survivor moms are fierce. You are too. ❤️❤️❤️
@freedomsbride There are many moms who only figure out they are survivors after their children are born. Mine were in elementary/middle school. I’ve caused them lots of hurt but they’ve also seen me grow and I think that counts too. 1/2
@MikeEhrmantrout I was silenced for thirty years, which I know you can relate to. It took sooo much for me to be able just to say the words, I’ll be d*mned if I’ll be quiet now. 😳
@wallywookie I deal with this too. I set alarms, take the meds, move the bottle, and make a note about when I took it. I still have moments of panic. I’m sorry you’re going through it too. ❤️
@Dvanme00 @BarrowJani @natgrace79 @PrncssOblivious I agree, some of it comes from kids, teachers, families, it’s so embedded in our culture even accepting families struggle to help their LGBTQ+ children feel safe. And trauma causes us to not feel safe even when we are.
@HollyStallcup I went to college while my parents were missionaries in another country and was responsible for moving myself, plus finding places to live and work. Some of the loneliest years of my life. But I’m glad you had that and I’m trying to be that to my kids now!
@billydinkel I couldn’t tell anyone at age 8 because I literally didn’t know the words for what was happening to me. No child should have to know those words. I’m sorry Billy.
@moonscapecat @Georgie_Burg_45 I am so sorry. You’ve done so much, it sounds like, and you should be so very proud. I will just sit with you and hold your hand for a while, if that’s ok.
