I agree with @Mikel_Jollett (and the hundred of other scientists) posting on this issue. But to be fair, most people who use p-values regularly couldn’t define it accurately.
Instead of bringing scientists on podcasts, how about we force podcasters to prove they can do basic science?
Do you know what “double-blind” means, my dude?
Can you define p-value, bro?
Without googling it, give me the basics of polymerization.
Can’t do it? You lose.
The Smiths bassist Andy Rourke, whose pounding rhythms underscored some of the most influential albums in British music history, has died at the age of 59, band-mate Johnny Marr announced Friday.

Grading the last submission for Problem Set 4. The student is killing it: **bonus punctos** on most questions. Then I realized I was grading my answer key.
@MuellerSheWrote Given what happened today, are you sure? Twitter does seem to be going through an...checking video at about 1:40...unplanned rapid disassembly.
Yes to @AndrewDessler and to @ed_hawkins. But an incredulous *no* to the the @RMetS for putting @GuyCallendar 's article behind a paywall. Really? For an article that demonstrates just how long we've known about climate change?
@RARohde As a matter of fact, yes. I use your graphs frequently in my intro climate classes, and it has become so hard to find your graphs I have-for a year now-just saved them as you publish them. Inefficient for me and not fair to you. A repository would be nice.
@1A on role of AI in education.
Guests note that AI automates the process of writing, and may reduce the importance of writing in education. Writing is more than grammar and punctuation. It's about the thinking that precedes the writing, and that's what I fear we lose with AI.
This week, I figured out how to do that cool one-handed egg-crack thing. It makes it so much more fun. I have to stop myself from talking to strangers about it.
I am a 51-year-old man.
To anyone who went to college in Boston over the past...well in my case 42 years...ouch...this hurts. One of my happiest moments of kinship-with people who were strangers just weeks before-happened at this IHOP. I know, the kinships remain, but places have power.
A Massachusetts developer has submitted a proposal to tear down the IHOP on Soliders Field Road for two residential buildings that will be 100% affordable at an average cost of 60% area median income.
My linear algebra professor walked in wearing champion sweatpants and a Fila hoodie with no bag no laptop no introduction no mention of the syllabus just picked up a piece of chalking and started teaching
@asitreadalong @ExploreCosmos_@cerrotololo One of the great triumphs of science: understanding nucleosynthesis. The "rapid-process" happens when the collision releases extraordinary numbers of neutrons. New elements appear. https://t.co/pwDfn8b6c3
The person who tracked faculty workloads-by hand in Excel-left. The person who replaced her, left. Task and spreadsheets were assigned to Deans, who assigned it to Chairs.
All data is on a server which downloads pdfs. Hello @ass_deans .
