If you’re simply cutting it off at the end of the scheduled slot then I was mistaken in saying it’s good enough. I guess i’ve merely been lucky enough so far. You’re really going to ruin a lot of sports fans’ days by not adapting the recording ending to match the extended broadcast.
About the volume boost on commercials, it’s probably not all of them, but when it happens it only provokes me to grab the remote.
Yes, my wife and I cancelled cable for all but internet in February when we moved. Hulu has become our main streaming service and the one where we record so much of the stuff we watch: talking heads, game shows, sports, movies, etc.
A big caveat about recording sports on Hulu is that they are not quite as good as Xfinity was about adjusting the ending time when the game is longer than scheduled. Good enough i guess but not great. But it’s still an ok tradeoff since it helps me fast forward through awkward, annoying commercials played overly loud as if to force me to pay attention.
@Judianna Creosote. In my childhood, many happy days on our family’s sailboat began with the scent of that stuff they used as preservative for the pilings which steadied the floating docks in the harbor.

@TeslaBoomerPapa The saddest moment for ND had to be when the goalie mostly blocked it but the ball was sitting there behind his leg. He inadvertently bends his knee and… own goal!

@Ahbracadabra@BuzzPatterson I have many, many happy memories of that place! One great example: It’s where I met my wife and it’s where we started our family. Neither of us grew up there, but both of us moved there as adults, having often visited extended family members as children.

The shape of this curve is kind of predictable for most IPOs. A select few buyers get in at the initial price, then it spikes upward. A short while later it’s at or below the IPO price. You didn’t miss the boat. You were just biding your time!
