@Aurons_Own@fkhanage I do still hold he is not quite fast enough. He needs the pass on his side of the defender, so he can outmuscle the defender in the running duel which he often can, but in a 50/50 long ball sprint, he very often comes up short. He is functional for some gamestates but not all.
@scottjwillis In the Wenger years these were some of the games I would look forward to the most, because I knew we would get to see some new talent. Still like that, but perhaps a little less bc of big squad rotation and the fact that it’s now so much easier to follow the youth teams.
@GeoffArsenal Haha, this is actually funny and fully warrants a bit of ridicule. Not quite the etymological meaning of the word and I don’t think you can just split words as you like to draw some half-baked meaning out of it. What are you - the rapist?😉🤷♂️
@footyspeakerbox He certainly jumps early, but to be fair the defender is also maintaining his leg in a position blocking Doku where he should have pulled it earlier. I would think that might be the defining factor - why does he keep it high to continously block him?
It seems to me that Gyokeres is jumping slightly before receiving the ball under pressure - it helps him control his touch, but also makes it easier to knock him out of balance which looks to be why he doesn’t hold on to it often enough. #afc
@charles_watts I really love that we have such a solid back-up/competition for Saka. And the fact that he is often a bit more direct than Saka bringing a slightly different style to that position. #priviledged
@scottjwillis This makes me really want to read a post about the differences between leagues in pure stats - just to understand how and where they differ and not.
@DarrenArsenal1 I’m not much of a banter person, so I’m going to be boring and say that this is a great player and I think he will be great for them. So happy we went for Eze, but just saying that they’re gonna be tough this year. I mean - at least compared to last year😅
@fkhanage True in terms of a full view of the situation, but I do think it adds a dimension to it all - a bit more dramatic and while I don’t want it to become theatrical, I do think it brings value to the experience to get a real sense of what it’s like on the pitch, up close and fast.
