When your fantasy team is middling at this point in the season, take it as a gift.

I know that sounds backwards. But that's the moment you can finally let go of the pressure to be brilliant. You don't need to land the league-winning sleeper.

When you're down, the temptation is to swing for the fences. You want the home run that gets you back into the game in one swing. I think the problem is that swing-for the fences mentality is how middling teams become bad teams. That's when you start reaching in your FAAB bids.

What you actually need is a lot of singles. The occasional double. And the patience to keep doing it after everyone else has stopped paying attention.

As the Charlie Munger phrase goes, you just need to be "consistently not stupid”. You can win by avoiding mistakes rather than chasing brilliance. And, just keep showing up with effort no matter how small.
