If a group of professors tell legislators: “You do not know how to do this law, let us do it”, this is not the way that being is to something good - @ermezio

This. Is. So. True. I left #academia 12 years ago, escaping from plans and expectations that other people piled up on me. I happily found my way in journalism and #scicomm, I may leave them or not, but it’s me who will decide. #freedom is a key to success

Shame on you, @elonmusk. I know less of George Soros activity in the US, but his contribution to Russia's science, education, and civil society in 1990s was universally positive.
Soros' money allowed thousands of Russian scientists and students to stay in science and stay in Russia. His foundations helped to start and build most important educational initiatives in fields, in which the country was lagging decades.
The Central European University that Soros founded and endowed in Budapest has fast become the best university in Eastern Europe, a model for all aspiring universities around the world.
One thing that defines Soros is the people who hate him. These are the same thugs that have been destroying universities and civil society institutions, jail journalists and artists, and nowadays bomb Ukrainian cities.
so, welcome to the world, my sweetest Michelangelo and Giovanni! In the last three years I ran zero marathons but I had two pregnancies and gave three births. It’s a different kind of sports, but very challenging and inspiring too!
Giving birth to my #twins was somewhat similar to how my dad described a 65 km skiing marathon high in Swiss alps: somewhere in the middle you ask yourself “what am I even doing here?!” And you want to give up and maybe someone shoots you. But when it’s over, you are very happy!
Here is my piece on the last 10 years of the history of #sciencejournalism in Russia, which happens to be also my own, personal history, cut off by the war. Thanks #ljnet for sharing this!
In the years before mass censorship in #Russia, the country’s science journalism community thrived, writes @lasachinka. This included the Russian Association of Science Communication (AKSON). Here’s how Russia’s invasion of #Ukraine changed this: https://t.co/qra568l6dD
